American Capital Advisory (ACA) started in 2006 with our first office in Virginia Beach, Virginia.  Founder Fleet Smith had just sold his interest in the largest Registered Investment Advisory firm in Virginia, but still felt he had something significant to offer clients.

In 2012, Matthew McNeal and Ian Jameson joined the Firm and opened the Ketchum, Idaho office.  Shortly after, Ketchum became the global headquarters of ACA and greatly expanded our client base beyond the original circle of friends and family.  In 2014, Gib Davenport opened an American Capital Advisory office in Richmond, Virginia.  Both offices have subsequently added significant investment talent and capability; Matthew Cullen, CFA as a Portfolio Manager in Richmond, and Maunsel Hickey, Renee Faltings, and Aurelie Bayer-Boloix as Advisors in Ketchum.
